My Tracker

The other day Zoe was with me as I ran some errands around town.

We came home and instantly her nose was onto a scent. She went directly into the kitchen, around the fridge, then straight for the back door looking up at the handle. I let her our and with her nose to the ground she headed to the back gate and waited again for me to open.

Next, with her nose still to the ground she headed straight toward the bee hives. She then took some time and smelled all around, sometimes retracing her steps and then came back once she was satisfied having finished her reconnaissance mission.

My brother happened to call a bit later and I asked him if he had come over while we were out, “yeah, why” he responded.

“Did you perhaps come in, go to the fridge, then to the back door and up to the hives?”

“Yeah, how did you know?”

“Because Zoe just tracked you.”

Think you need a sophisticated alarm system? Perhaps you feel there might be a need for a three level authentication combining card, PIN number and fingerprint system to tell who enters your home? Nope. You just need my badass Basenji-mix super girl!

The image above was her pointing/tracking action at a nearby trail. The below image was first thing in the morning after a night where the raccoons had clearly been trespassing.
